![]() ![]() ![]() I just figured for over 30 bucks it'd be a bit better Would've given the place 4 stars if the Mac n cheese & fries were not overcooked to a crisp. Fries themselves were crunchy to where It seems like they were cooked a bit too long. The fries were meh seasoning was heavy on the top and none on the bottom guessing I was supposed to shake the bag to even it out. The Mac and cheese was burned on the outside as the picture shows the middle that was edible was decent though. The big difference being the lobster but at the suspected $15~ difference to cover a 5" sandwich worth of filling, it seems to fall a bit short to me in value personally. The roll itself was very small in comparison to local businesses that charge 1/4 the price for a sandwich at double the size. Lobster roll tasted good roll was buttered nicely.overall was underwhelming in my opinion from all the word-of-mouth hype surrounding it. Ordered takeout from here and this is what I recieved: I'm being critical due to the price being significantly more expensive than local sandwich/lunch chains. Maybe it was an off night because of the holiday weekend but we really wouldn't come back especially with all the many other restaurant options in the area. The crab cakes were very good with hardly any filling and a good size but portions of the other food were not as generous as we expected compared to what other reviews were saying. We told them we were still missing fries and they said they'll get it but then a little while later we see the person that we told leave for the night and we never got the fries. We pointed out that she ordered different sides and they came back with only one of the sides. She got 2 totally different sides and never got her soup. My daughter chose fries and Mac & cheese as her options and also added soup to her dinner. Ordered the crab cake sandwich that came with old bay chips, crab cake platter that came with 2 sides of your choice, and the kids ordered the Asian tuna that came with 2 side options. I would highly recommend eating at Henlopen and understand the hype but would also have loved more space between tables.Ĭame here because of the high reviews. I also understand that the restaurant industry has been hit hard by covid and that probably contributes to how close the tables are but figured I'd mention it in case your comfort level is not where mine is. I prefer to still eat outside when possible due to covid so this was a bit of a downer but looking at where the restaurant is located, I completely understand this is due to a lack of sidewalk space. A few things to note: outdoor seating is only available for parties of two and the indoor seating is packed quite full. All of the food was amazing and we completely cleared all of our plates. We ordered the oyster sampler (one of each oyster), the jerk grilled rockfish with fries and mashed potatoes, the lobster roll with mac and cheese, the soft shell crab, and the bouillabaisse. ![]() Our waiter was attentive and everyone who brought our food out was so friendly. ![]() Our water cups were rarely below the half point. The service and the food were amazing here. They make use of yelp waitlists and it's super convenient. We went again on our last night closer to 530 and were able to get a table around 615. We went around 730 the first night and they had already filled up for the night. Henlopen was the most in demand restaurant during our rehoboth trip. ![]()
