![]() ![]() How do we know? The fact that they are described as being dark brown tabbies is enough evidence without their stripe colors being mentioned. Cats like Tigerstar and Bramblestar are black tabbies. These cats are genetically black cats (since a tabby's stripes is the actual color of the cat). A black tabby is a dark brown cat with black stripes. Shaded cats are pretty complicated, but basically there apart of the silver series, shaded tabbies are usually ticked silver cats with whatever color the cat is genetically (example, a ticked silver cat with black tabby markings is a black silver shaded tabby). But he's not a black tabby, he's a black SHADED tabby. Black (brown) Blue (silver) Blue-based caramel. In warriors, there's really only one cat (that i can think of) that is described as being a black tabby and that's Darkstripe. The tabby pattern occurs in twelve colours which are black based or red based and their dilutes and dilute modifiers which change the shape of the melanin granules or make them clump together. However leafpool isn't the only genetically impossible cat, literally over 50% of all warriors characters are genetically impossible given their parentage, however this isn't really a huge issue of mine.īut there is a color of tabby that is very rarely used in the warrior cats series and when its used, its misused because the authors probably don't know what this because these cats look mostly brown but they aren't. I don't expect the authors to know everything about cat genetics but its kinda funny when leafpool is a chocolate tabby despite both of her parents having the red gene. So warrior cats has a pretty bad grasp on cat genetics. ![]() If the content within contains spoilers, please also apply a spoilers tag.
